Noah - I agree........I used to sell furniture and told people all the time not to apply for credit until after they closed on their house...........most of them had no idea.
Your lender might also need a recent bank statement and pay stub, so definitely do not change jobs or banks either!

Noah, great advice, can not say it enough times to first time and repeat buyers. I keep telling horror stories of where the buyer removed their loan contingency and in the 23rd hour the lender did not perform due to new car.

Now that is a horror story - ouch!
Points well taken ....we always tell our anxious buyers that all the new furnishings can wait a little bit and they may want to get the feel for the house before they decide what to put in it....this is more important today than ever !
