Lots of good advice. Owning a home is, should be everyone's dream. Home ownership makes you more of a community members, paying property taxes does that to a person to get them involved, make sure local funds are not being wasted, and to serve on local boards to make the place a better area to live, raise family.

Noah:  Love the Top Ten list you provided ... especially #1, as that can definitely incorporate #4 with it.  Most lenders will run a credit report FREE, should someone contact them that is a potential home buyer, whether soon .. or in the future.  The more information we can get out to first-time/potential buyers the better.  An educated buyer is a happier buyer in the end ...
